Geniatech M3 Android4.0_20120827 Upgrading Instruction

1. If the Automatic update option is selected by default in Upgrade app, it will find and download new firmware automatically after restarting or starting up the box.There is a downloading icon in the right corner of the screen. After finished downloading, it will pop up a message to remind you to upgrade now, click yes, the box will upgrade and restart.
Then, you will find the Uboot version is V2.0.0 (20120815), Recovery version is V2.0.0 (20120721). Kernel version is 2.6.34(20120828), Build number is V1.03 (20120827) in setting->about device. Now, you can enjoy the box with 20120827 firmware.

2.If the Automatic update option has not been selected, click Manual update now option in upgrade app and it will search new firmware version from internet. When the box find new version (20120827), click yes to download and upgrade.
Please don’t power off the box while upgrading.
If you want to upgrade the firmware with external SD card or USB disk, please do as below:
1.Download and don’t unzip the files from below URL:
www.geniatech.com/down-eng/androidtvbox/update_spi_M3_20120815.zip
www.geniatech.com/down-eng/androidtvbox/updateM3_20120827.zip

Copy them into SD card or USB disk and connect to the box, run Upgrade app, select Local upgrade, you will find the files in the list, select update_spi_M3_20120815.zip to upgrade first, after finished, it will restart the box. And then, do the same steps to select updateM3_20120827.zip to upgrade. You will find the Uboot version is V2.0.0 (20120815), Recovery version is V2.0.0 (20120721). Kernel version is 2.6.34(20120828), Build number is V1.03 20120827 in setting->about device after finished. Now, you can enjoy the box with 20120827 firmware version.

2.If it can’t find these two files, please press F1/Menu button for 8 times under Upgrade->Local upgrade. It will search all files again.
Fixed problems based on 20120726 firmware version.
1.Move apps to SD card is available now.

2.Added external SD card storage in setting->storage.

3.Fixed the latest Youtube 4.0.23 apk and Google play music 4.3.606.400990 can’t run problems.

4.Netflix app can be opened properly.

5.Removed one blank language option in setting->language & input.

6.Fixed Wi-Fi can’t be turned on issue when the box connects a 2.4G wireless keyboard & mouse.

7.Fixed “Tick” audio noise after stopping video playback for 2- seconds on CVBS mode.

8.Optimized Wi-Fi can’t be connected automatically from standby mode.
